NGP Client Internet Efforts Honored by 2007 Pollie Awards and Golden Dot Award

NGP congratulates clients John Murtha for Congress, Jack Carter for Senate and Peter Welch for Congress on the honors their NGP developed Internet efforts received from the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) at the recent Pollie Awards.

NGP took home top honors (tie) for Best U.S. House Candidate for the John Murtha for Congress Web site. As a result of his stand against the war in Iraq, Congressman Murtha was targeted by the national GOP in his 2006 re-election bid. In order to share his position on the war in Iraq and other issues, as well as conduct rapid response, Murtha used his campaign Web site to reach out to voters and supporters. In addition to a strong design and information architecture, the site features an active blog and a "Truth Corner" where the campaign rapidly rebutted attacks on the candidate. The campaign also used a sister site, Vets for Murtha, to communicate with a specific target audience, building on Murtha's personal service in the military. A blog and photo/video galleries engaged the audience and generated turnout at major 'Vets for Murtha' rallies.

NGP was also honored for its work on the blog ads of Jack Carter for Senate, and the Jack Carter for Senate and Peter Welch for Congress Web sites.

In addition to the Pollies, NGP is proud to announce four of its internet efforts have made the Golden Dot shortlist. This prestigious award is issued by the Institute for Politics, Democracy and the Internet. This year, NGP is honored for its Web site and blog work on John Murtha for Congress, the Great American Condom Campaign, and Jack Carter for Senate. The Great American Condom Campaign site won the award for best webstie for an Internet Advocacy Campaign.
