Lefty Favors Raising the Mammal Wage

Tampa, Florida (February 2, 2007) At a campaign event in Tampa, Florida, Lefty called for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressional Democrats to consider raising the Mammal Wage, which he said had been mistakenly left out of the agenda of the new Democratic Congress.

"By not addressing the Mammal Wage issue, Democrats in Congress have overlooked their most visible constituency," said Lefty. "We cannot discount, nor belittle, the heavy economic burden carried on their backs."

Recently, Congress passed a bill raising the Minimum Wage, although the bill did not include any provision stipulating a raise for the Mammal Wage. Lefty has been an outspoken advocate for Mammals, going so far as to call for a minimum wage for mammals set at $7.25, the same as the national minimum wage.

Lefty is the only candidate from either the Republican or Democratic parties that has reached out to the equine electorate. Lefty wants to give what is deserved to the donkey community.

John Smith, national President of the Federation for Donkey Workers, who attended the event in Tampa, said "Lefty has been a leader in protecting mammal laborers, and the FDW is thrilled to support Lefty's candidacy for President."
