Can Lefty ‘Pull America Forward’ Amidst Allegations of Wrong-Doing

Washington, DC (February 2, 2007)- In a widely anticipated event at the National Zoo, Lefty announced today that he would be seeking the Democratic Party's nomination for President. In his announcement, Lefty highlighted the impending energy and education crises facing the United States today, calling for John F. Kennedy-like initiatives to solve them.

Lefty claimed that for America to make strides in progress saying, "Gray, white, brown, hooved and not hooved, tails or no tails, we need a uniter, not a divider."

The question around the barn is whether or not Lefty can actually follow through on is promise to ‘pull America forward.' Although he has a wealth of experience in American politics, his electability has been called into question over somewhat shady dealing with the Mexican Ministry of Tourism.

The conservative group, American Equine Institute, has publicly accused Lefty of being a pawn of the Mexican government, with which Lefty has several business contacts in tourism industry. Allegedly, Lefty has turned a blind eye to the hundreds of illegal workers in the southwest region of the United States. Lefty has made no public statements about either the allegations or his plans to reform immigration standards.

The allegations made by the American Equine Institute have not seemed to damage or discourage Lefty or his supporters. Lefty even alluded to the controversy in a joke saying, ‘you can drape a Mexican flag over your back when giving rides to tourists' but that doing so cannot hide a New Jersey accent.

Today, he emphasized the positive and what he could do for this country if elected. His optimism seemed to win the crowd over. One woman said, "I'm pleased to see Lefty announce his candidacy. He has a positive view for America that will help incorporate all mammals. Sometimes its hard to feel like you can be part of the process, but Lefty wants to wrangle the horses back in."

In poll released just this past week, Lefty is winning in Iowa by 9%, a state known to appreciate a good work ethic. He will head to the state later this week in a series of barnyard rallies with supporters throughout the region.
